The need to continue involuntary placement must be regularly reviewed.

Placement in a mental health care institution is a very severe security measure.  It should be applied only after a careful examination of whether you are a danger to society because of your mental condition and the crime which you have allegedly committed. However, during the involuntary placement, you may get better and no longer be a danger. Therefore, it is important to regularly review the need for the security measure.

What human rights violation may there be?

If the need for involuntary placement is not regularly reviewed and you are not given an opportunity to challenge your prolonged involuntary placement, it may result in a violation of the right to liberty and the security of a person.
