How many times may a person be elected consecutively?
The right to be elected can be limited to a certain number of consecutive mandates. However, whilst the president can only serve two consecutive terms, there is no such restriction under Latvian law for parliamentary or local deputies, who may serve for as long as they are elected. Such restrictions are generally accepted under international human rights law, but they vary from state to state.
