In several cases, you may be prohibited from standing for election by a judicial decision. However, such a restriction should not be automatic, and the offence must be sufficiently serious or associated with the electoral process.
Latvian law prohibits several categories of people, for example, prisoners, from standing for parliamentary and municipal elections.
